"Nothing is impossible with God" (Luke 1:37)
December 2010
The question of Mary, announcement of the angel: "How is this possible?" had an answer: "Nothing is impossible with God" and, as proof of this, was the example of Elizabeth, who in her old age she had conceived a child. Mary believed and became the Mother of the Lord.
God is omnipotent: that his name is frequently encountered in Sacred Scripture and is used when you want to express the power of God in blessing, the judge, in directing the course of events, in achieving its designs.
There is only one limit to the omnipotence of God, human freedom, which can be opposed to him will make a man impotent, while it would be called to share the same power of God
"Nothing is impossible with God"
[...] It 's a word that opens us to a boundless confidence in the love of God the Father, for if God is and his being is Love, complete confidence in him is but the logical consequence.
All thanks are in his power: the temporal and spiritual, possible and impossible. And he gives them to those who ask and to those who will not, because, as the Gospel says, he, the Father, "makes his sun rise on the evil and the good" and asks us all to act like him, with the same universal love, sustained by faith that:
"Nothing is impossible with God"
How to live then this word in everyday life?
We all have to deal with difficult situations from time to time, painful, both in our personal lives, and in relations with others. And sometimes we experience all our impotence because we feel in our attachments to things and people that make us slaves of links from which we would like to get rid of. We are often faced with walls of indifference and selfishness, and we feel your hands grow weak in the face of events that seem outdated.
Well, in these moments, the Word of life can help us. Jesus leaves us to experience of our inability, not to be discouraged, but to help us better understand that "nothing is impossible with God" to prepare to experience the extraordinary power of his grace, which is manifested when we see that with our poor powers we can not do .
"Nothing is impossible with God"
repeating this in the most critical moments, we will by the Word of God that it embodies that energy, making us participate in some of the same omnipotence of God For a provided, however, namely that his will is alive, trying to spread around us that love which is placed in our hearts. So we will be in unison with the powerful Love of God for his creatures, to whom everything is possible, what helps to carry out his plans on the individual and humanity.
But there is a special moment in order to live the Word and to test the effectiveness of all: it is in prayer.
Jesus said that whatever you ask the Father in his name he will grant us. Let's try to ask what we love more with the certainty of faith that to him nothing is impossible: the resolution of desperate cases, to world peace, healing from serious diseases, the recomposition of social and family conflicts.
If we are more to ask the same thing, in full agreement on mutual love, then Jesus is in our midst who prays to the Father and, according to his promise, we will.
With this faith in the omnipotence of God and His love, we asked one day to N. that this tumor seen on a radiograph, "disappeared" as if it were an error or a ghost. And so it happened.
This boundless confidence that makes us feel in the arms of a Father to whom everything is possible, and must always accompany the events of our lives. It is said that we will always ask what. His is the omnipotence of the Father and always use and only for the sake of her children who they know it or not. The important thing is living growing certainty that God nothing is impossible and we will experience a peace than ever.
